Inspo from health experts to finish 2017 with a bang.
If you’re like us, the year flew by so quickly that it almost feels like there wasn’t enough time to get everything done. But there’s still enough time to squeeze in those last-minute to-dos to end with a more fulfilling year. Consider this your wellness bucket list.
Dr Lewis Ehrlich, Holistic Dentist, PT and Health Coach @doctor.lewis
“Being physically fit and active is extremely important and one of my top health priorities. One thing I will be introducing more of before the end of the year is yoga and stretching. Specifically as a dentist you spend a lot of time sitting, and looking down in people’s mouths, so spending more time on wellness based physical movement is high on my priority list. It’s not only good for the body but for the mind too.”
Jess Sepel, Nutritionist and Author @jshealth
“One thing I will be doing is disconnecting from technology and social media for 8-10 days over the New Year break. My hubby and I are going on an actual vacation where we will totally switch off before a huge 2018. This means no emails/social media/work talk for that whole week – a real challenge but the only way I can accomplish what I need to.”
Sami Bloom, Nutritionist @samibloom
“Before the year end I plan to spend 5-15 minutes each morning reading something uplifting and/or informative. I know another “to-do” to our already long list of morning activities can seem ridiculous, but this will set the right tone for the day, to have you working toward the type of lifestyle you wish to lead. Make it part of your routine- maybe while you drink water/lemon water/tea, as part of your meditation or breath work, on the treadmill or while you stretch.”
Alison Cotton, founder and designer, First Base @thisisfirstbase
“Before the end of the year, I want to hit a PB on my dead lift of 65kg. I have been training with the fitness dynamo’s Base Body Babes and it’s empowering to be able to squat and deadlift, it makes you feel like you can achieve anything.”
Blake Worrall-Thompson, Performance and Lifestyle Coach @blakeworrallthompson
“Before the end of 2017 I am going to spend a bit of time mapping out my 2018 but it will be very different to anything I’ve done before when it comes to goal setting. Over the past 2 years I’ve learnt a lot about human behaviour so not only will I set my goals but I’ll also speed some time digging deep on the things that have prevented me from having more success in the past (elements of the headspace). Other than that i’m a big fan of adventure and growth so I have a few trips planned before the end of the year and some learnings which are going to have me get really uncomfortable and step up to the next level.”
